I love Africa dearly, but I am hurt when I read news about African lives. Whether it is politics, culture and social life. The world seem to be getting well off yet Africa is getting worst. There seem to be no respect for human life, human dignity, human cue as a living creature, you name it all. Sooner or later Africans would have no different with animals in the forest. I am saying this not because I am antiafrican way of living. I am just worried as an African about the way we treated oursleves and the ways our governments treat us.
I felt my deepest wonder after I read a story of a couple amputees. A gentleman amputated by LRA, the rebel group that has been fighting Ugandan government for more then 20 years. In fact this gentleman’s situation is outrageous one. He got his hands, nose, hears and lips cut off. The other sad story is of an innocense woman from Sierra Loane who got her hand chopped off by rebel group just outside freetown. These kind of atrocites are life threatening in African societies. If there is no universal law that prevent people to fight, there should be a universal law that granted right for all human to live?
Those in power should not make life miserable for the weakest. Everybody, young, old and disable deserve to live. Every goverment should be by people, for people, therefore should protect all people equally.
